Enhancing Customer Experience with Cloud Technology [2023]

calendar iconApril 14, 2020

Link Datacenter (LDC), a Microsoft managed service partner, made a proactive decision to be the first in Egypt to invest in Microsoft Azure Stack. The solution allows customers to have some of their workloads on the public cloud and other workloads on-premises within the country for regulatory reasons.

Link Datacenter (LDC) provides managed and cloud integrated services, mainly in Egypt and the Gulf region. In Egypt, as in other places in the world, the government, manufacturing, financial services, and healthcare industries are all challenged to be more innovative while meeting strict data compliance, regulatory, and policy requirements. LDC aims to meet this innovation challenge for all companies in those industries.

LDC’s business in Egypt is 53 to 55 percent cloud, with the cloud business worth USD6 million per year. It is one of the biggest Microsoft Azure partners in the region, providing public cloud services to Egyptian customers.

Informed by the trust built over a 20-year relationship, LDC turned to its partner HPE to help it understand how to price its offerings and optimize revenue based on Azure Stack. HPE was also instrumental during facilitation and decision making, including the financial process.

Flexibility for all Customer Workloads

As LDC has enhanced its digital footprint in cloud marketing by mixing private and public clouds, it has accelerated digital transformation for customers in the region.

“We used to provide legacy hosting services on-premises through our own data center to customers, using the Microsoft service provider license agreement. Back then, Microsoft Azure was only available on the public cloud, and some of our customers had data sovereignty, latency, and data classification issues, which prohibited them from adopting full public cloud across all their workloads. We became the first to offer Microsoft Azure Stack to the Egyptian market,” says Gamal Selim, CEO of Link Datacenter. Not only is LDC technically experienced enough to run Microsoft Azure Stack, it can also support customers with setup. By applying a proper move to the cloud, customers can save between 30 and 50 percent compared to an on-premises-only scenario.

Agility and Innovation with Azure Stack

LDC provides Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft Azure, and a wide portfolio of hosting solutions.

“We are committed to improving our customers’ businesses and continuously delivering new updates and innovation on Microsoft Azure Stack and are seeing increasing customer needs to use it. By completing our cloud offering with [Azure Stack], we are targeting a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 40 percent for our cloud services throughout the coming three years,” he adds.

Being one of Microsoft’s prime business partners for over twenty years, LDC continuously engages with new Microsoft technologies. This way the company can be sure that it is always ahead.
